JOBS 22 TEAM’S GREAT COMMUNITY DAY AT THE FARM

Last week a group from Jobs 22 spent a brilliant day at CARE, helping reinstate an allotment so that its ready to be used again. The allotment is an important part of the project used to teach learners how to produce fruit, vegetables, create compost, look after the environment and then how to use it in the kitchen! Having it back will be really valuable for CARE and the people who access the project.

Jobs 22 is a organisation which was formed to support people back into work, giving them access to all the tools, advice and guidance they need to thrive. They partner with local organisations and charities to create bespoke support systems that empower people with the skills they need to succeed at work and thrive! The team from Stafford’s Job 22 also do community days, spending time with local organisations like ourselves to give back which is brilliant.

Everyone had a really positive day, Carol, Director at CARE commented “it was our privilege to host their community team day and we are so very grateful for the immense shift that they put in, and for their polite, friendly approach to everything, very inspiring” The team were very busy, rebuilding pathway borders, clearing weeds, removing old compost bin woodwork, spreading the old compost into all of the beds, making the area safe for people to access again and more!

Howard, Business Manager for Jobs 22 and attendee on the day said “the team had a fantastic day at CARE, we picked lucky with the weather and were involved with restoring some overgrown allotments into working order. Seeing the work that Carol & CARE do and being able to support them is its own reward, but spending the day in the countryside did a lot for everyone’s wellbeing, motivation and provided some great team bonding”.

Joanne, Social Impact Manager added “that offering the time to staff to undertake a volunteering day out in the community not only gives Jobs 22 the opportunity to give back to the communities they operate within, but allows them to build new skills, relationships and helps them connect with our core aims of supporting people. Thank you so much for having the team”.

As can be seen in the photo’s it was a really busy, productive and all round positive day. We loved having the team with us here at CARE and would love to welcome them back in the future!
