CARE is continually developing online courses to be run completely digitally which you can enroll upon and complete from the comfort of your own home! These courses are free and funded by Staffordshire Community Learning.
Current online and face to face courses open for enrollment:
Gardening, Woodcraft and the Environment (Thursdays 03/04 – 05/06)
This course will introduce and help you feel more confident in gardening, woodcraft and conserving our natural environment. Complete design and build projects as part of a team with other learners and develop your personal skills too. You will build a garden woodwork project using recycled / up cycled materials, selecting, using and painting appropriate tools, planting and propagation, eco friendly gardening practises to encourage wildlife into your garden and protect our environment.
All course resources will be provided by CARE with opportunities to forage for natural materials too on our site. This is a face to face learning course supported with an online padlet learning blog.
The courses run weekly, completely free and transport is provided for those who need it from two pick up locations (Stafford & Cannock)
Four Seasons Countryside Craft & Wellbeing (Course 1 Thursdays 01/05 – 05/06) & (Course 2 Monday’s 09/06 – 14/07)
Come join us and be inspired to learn new skills, support your well-being, celebrate the countryside, upcycle resources and create rural arts / crafts. You will also be able to enjoy are lovely wellbeing garden and animals too!
Have an opportunity to forage for organic resources from our garden and woodland. Get to spend time outdoors, enjoy the wellbeing benefits of spending time outside in nature and with our animals.

Plan and Host a Community Garden Open Event (Thursday’s 12/06 – 17/07)
Join us as we design, market and host a community garden event! Develop your planning, organisational and team working skills. Learn how to price items, be introduced to AI and budget management. This is an introductory course to help you gain confidence in your English, Maths and Digital Skills, work as part of a team, design and create seasonal rustic products. We will discuss your personal goals and how to communicate with others, supporting your independence and next step towards volunteering or work.

Alongside our face to face courses we also run a great range of online courses throughout the year. All the course’s are free and for Staffordshire residents aged 19+ who are experiencing or recovering from mental ill health or people who have a learning difficulty or unemployed and want to support their wellbeing. Art For Wellbeing – Journeys Outdoors with Art (Fridays 21/03 – 25/04)
A great free online course where we adventure across Staffordshire, watching us explore different locations to find inspiration for art all while improving your wellbeing and learning new skills. On this course you will have the chance to learn new techniques, improve your confidence, be part of a community, create your own art journal, talk and receive feedback from a local professional artist, attend 3 live zoom sessions and receive a free resource pack!
The sessions run weekly via our private Facebook page and online learning blog. The learning hours required to complete the course are flexible and can be covered to suit you during that week, ideal if you work and want to complete the sessions later in the evening.
Art For Wellbeing – An Introduction to Pastels (Wednesdays 21/05 – 25/06)
This course will introduce you to pastels, basic techniques and advice on how to get the most from them, inspiring you to learn new skills and support your wellbeing. No prior art skills required.
On this course you will have the chance to learn new techniques, support your wellbeing, improve your confidence with art, be part of a community, create your own artwork, talk and receive feedback from a local professional artist, attend 3 live zoom sessions and receive a free resource pack!
