CARE – STAFF WELLBEING AND DEVELOPMENT DAY!

SUPPORTING OUR STAFF AND VOLUNTEERS WITH TRAINING AND TEAM BUILDING EXERCISES

This week CARE was proud to run a Wellbeing and Development day, inviting all of our staff to take part in training and team building exercises ran by our Wellbeing Champion, Amie Garghan. The day comprised of group discussions and exercises where we explored effective communication, techniques to reduce anxiety, our own wellbeing while at work, fun team building exercises and much more.

As part of the day we have created a online space for all of our staff, where training, videos and relevant links will be uploaded to keep everyone current and up to date with best practices. It will also provide a safe space to share and communicate with the other staff at CARE.

The day was a success and the feedback from everyone involved has been overwhelmingly positive. Thanks to all those who both helped and attended the day. We also sent everyone away with a fun self soothing goody bag which included toiletries, a reed defuser and even a little chocolate!

This will be the first of many such days ongoing throughout the year as part of our commitment to our staff to develop a workplace and culture where everyone can thrive and feel comfortable. Our next day will include a visit from a external speaker who is coming to talk to us about dementia and how to best support those who are showing signs.
