CARE RECEIVES GENEROUS DONATION FROM GP FIRST LTD

Based in Stafford, GP First Ltd is a Federation of GP Practices which works in partnership with other healthcare providers including Clinical Commissioning Groups and the voluntary sector to improve services for the local population.

They focus on primary care around the health, wellbeing and social needs of local communities.  As a Community Interest Company C.A.R.E also supports residents within the local communities of Stafford, Cannock Chase and across South Staffs from its farm based wellbeing project at Penkridge.

The new funding support of £5,000 was pledged by GP First Managing Director Steve Powell and Paul Meredith, Director of Service Development as part of their commitment to developing new community partners.

Carol Parkes, CARE comments:  This support came as a complete surprise following our guest presentation on wellbeing that we gave to the new community group Steve and Paul, along with other volunteers are forming called S.O.L.V.E. We always welcome the opportunity to support whenever we can in the local community and to receive this recognition from them for our wellbeing provision and the activities we provide at CARE, Penkridge was fantastic.  We are looking forward to working in partnership with them and the group as it develops.

The new community group ‘S.O.L.V.E’ (Stafford Organisation of Local Volunteer Events) currently meets at Chebsey Village Hall on the second Wednesday of every month, and receives referrals from local GP’s supporting those who are lonely/well and are isolated post Covid.

The group was formed by volunteers who worked with GP First as part of the Stafford Covid Vaccination programme at the County Showground and Kingston Centre.
